- Steve Ditko
To the left are 3 panels from Steve Ditko's work of batman while he was at his time at DC comics. Here you can see the difference in his work to other drawings of batman.
Here he looks more mysterious and has a less typical heroic and handsome appearance along with Steve Ditko's noteable claustrophobic feel within his panels.
To the right is a piece of work by another comic book artist that was a possibility to look into during this assignment "Neal Adams". Here you can see his drawing of Batman is much more like the typical view of him in comics and movies today. Here he looks very heroic and has that handsome hero look in general. He also seems to look more physically strong in this version and quite different to Steve Ditko's work. Although it is a quite different style I very much appreciate Neal Adams work also.
One reason i decided to choose Steve Ditko's work was because his looks very different to the designs and artwork you would see in comics today and so it was unique in that sense. His background was also very interesting as he had worked with Marvel as well as DC (The two major comic book companies) and other small independant groups.
